Kitty Craft is the musical alias of Minneapolis artist Pamela Valfer, known for her blend of lo-fi hip-hop beats, ethereal synths, dreamy samples, and angelic vocals. She debuted in 1994 with a self-titled cassette on Toytown, followed by the It’s Stupid EP (1995). Her sound expanded with Beats & Breaks from the Flower Patch (1998) and Catskills (2000), both of which gained attention in the U.S. and Japan.
After a long hiatus, Kitty Craft resurfaced in 2019, re-releasing her catalog and unveiling Lost Tapes, a collection of unreleased tracks from 2003. A resurgence of '90s aesthetics and the rise of lo-fi music has brought her sound to new listeners. In 2022, she released MEW (1994-2004), a compilation spanning her career, followed by reissues of her albums through Takotsubo Records and 7th Heaven. In 2024, she returns with a deluxe 2xLP release of Beats & Breaks from the Flower Patch, solidifying her place in indie music history.
