The Frights are an American surf punk band consisting of Mikey Carnevale (guitar/lead vocals), Richard Dotson (bass/vocals), Marc Finn (drums), and Jordan Clark (guitar). The Frights were formed in 2012 by lead vocalist/guitarist Mikey Carnevale, bassist Richard Dotson, and drummer Adam Lomnitzer as a simple time-killer project following the trio's graduation from high school. Their musical style mixed elements of surf, classic punk, and doo-wop, resulting in "tunes that managed to be catchy, aggressive, and playfully ridiculous all at once." The band separated shortly after formation, with all three members attending college, but rejoined in December 2012 to play a one-off show during Christmas break. The intent was to disband once again after this show, but the band were approached by an audience member who offered to sign the band to local label Postmark Records.
LIILY
Liily are five Los Angeles teenagers hailing from deep in the San Fernando Valley to the edges of the Inland Empire. Emerging from a new and burgeoning culture of youths in the city, their wildly frenetic shows point to a new vision for alternative and hard rock music in 2018 where such things aren't supposed to exist anymore: one that is actually a hell of a lot of fun. Liily makes music that draws on all the jagged stimuli of their upbringings to make something distinctly Los Angeles in 2018. You wouldn't know it from the walls of death they're forming at their shows, but Liily is creating a space for their generation. With the aid of their deep fraternal bonds, Liily is pulling an exhilarating scene out of rock's current murmur.
Buddha Trixie
(San Diego, CA) Products of Park Village Elementary School, guitarist Andrew Harris, singer/drummer Daniel Cole, and bassist Dennis Moon grew up side by side, witnessing all of each other's awkward years. They harnessed that unbreakable bond into a sick cover of "Gravity" by John Mayer that every parent at their middle school graduation fucked with hard. A bunch of years later, and Kenzo Mann joins the fold, bringing hot synths and hot guitar. They stop playing "Gravity" and write their own songs. Their old fanbase of parents say they've changed. It's okay. The kids love the new songs about whatever Daniel's deal is. Every song they record soon becomes a #1 single. They exclusively tour the planet Earth, citing the crowds on Mars being "wack". Although now drowned in money and fame, the four haven't forgotten their roots -- they humbly sleep in the same bed like the grandparents from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.
