Mom Jeans is an East Bay band that started in a college dorm room in Berkeley, when Eric Butler and Austin Carango decided to create music that was loud, heartfelt, and unapologetically themselves. What began as a DIY project fueled by late-night jams & a lot of humor quickly grew into something bigger as they added Bart Thompson on guitar and Sammy Kless on bass.
The band’s sound blends the emotional rawness of emo, the energy of punk, and a healthy dose of honest lyrics. Over the years, Mom Jeans has released three full-length albums (Best Buds, Puppy Love, Sweet Tooth), several EPs, splits, and even an acoustic LP. They’ve built a community around their music that’s all about having fun, being themselves, and not taking life too seriously—kind of like the soundtrack to an episode of Jackass
Now, as they work on their fourth full length album, they’re still doing things their way, no frills, just four friends having a good time and making the music they love. The next chapter is coming soon, and it’s gonna be just as loud, and fun as ever.
