Cave In is an American rock band that formed in 1995, in Methuen, Massachusetts. After several members changes in the late 1990s, their lineup solidified with the 1998 release of Until Your Heart Stops through Hydra Head Records. Their early albums were prominent in the metalcore scene. After this release, the band started experimenting with other genres. Cave In later received mainstream recognition for their 2003 RCA Records album Antenna and its lead single "Anchor," which had an overall alternative rock style.
Author & Punisher is a one-man industrial doom metal band from San Diego, CA, made up of mechanical engineer and artist Tristan Shone. He started the band in January 2004. Most of the instrumentation and controllers he uses, entitled "Drone Machines" and "Dub Machines", are custom designed and fabricated by Shone from raw materials and open source electronic circuitry. Shone has released seven albums as Author & Punisher; the last two, 2015's Melk En Honing (milk and honey/honing), and 2017's Pressure Mine, were released on Phil Anselmo's record label Housecore Records. His next studio album Beastland is set to be released by Relapse Records in October 2018.
Astronoid is a post-metal band from Lowell, Massachusetts, formed in 2012. They have released two extended plays, November (2012) and Stargazer (2013), and one studio album Air (2016). The band started as a studio project between vocalist Brett Boland land and bassist Daniel Schwartz. Boland had previously played in Morning Glory.
